Peripheral Blood and Related Products
Human peripheral blood is one of the most easily accessible sources for obtaining unprocessed tissue and primary cells.
At CGT Global's Collection Centres, normal unprocessed human peripheral blood products are collected from IRB consented donors and shipped out immediately or quickly processed at their FDA registered laboratory to ensure each primary cell type is of the highest quality.
Each cell type is characterised by flow cytometry to guarantee a pure and viable cell population for research applications.

Peripheral Blood - Isolated Cells
Human peripheral blood contains a vast array of hematopoietic cells involved in defending the body against infection and disease. Each cell type has a specialised function and plays a pivotal role in human health. The study of these cells allows insight into ways of enhancing treatment and development of cures for infectious and chronic diseases and is fundamental to the advancement of cellular and regenerative medicine.
CGT Global offers a wide variety of human peripheral blood cells. Peripheral blood is collected at one of their Stem Cell Collection Centres from healthy IRB consented donors that are negative for HBV, HCV, and HIV and sent to their FDA-registered cell manufacturing facility for processing to a primary cell population. Cell attributes, such as phenotype, viability, purity, and cell count, are checked to meet rigorous standards ensuring high-quality cells before leaving the facility.

Mobilised Peripheral Blood - Isolated Cells
Human Mobilised Peripheral Blood Primary Cells are collected from healthy IRB consented donors that are injected with Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF aka Neupogen®), Plerixafor (aka Mozobil®), or a combination of Plerixafor and G-CSF. These mobilisation agents increase circulating leukocytes and stimulate the bone marrow to produce a large number of hematopoietic stem cells, which are mobilised into the bloodstream, allowing for large quantities of stem cells and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) to be collected from a single donor.
Leukopaks
CGT Global's Peripheral Blood Leukopaks provide enriched peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) with low granulocyte and red blood cells.
This highly enriched PBMC fraction requires minimal downstream processing (i.e. Ficoll) and can be used directly for isolating high yields of immune cells, such as CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells, CD19+ B cells, monocytes, and other immune cells.
High cell yields allow for greater reproducibility of experiments from a single donor (minimising donor-to-donor variation), a decrease in same cell variability, and scalability of experiments.
In addition, up to 12 Leukopaks can be collected from the same donor each year, providing an ample amount of PBMCs for large-scale experiments and research studies.
Leukopaks are sent out on the same day or frozen immediately to ensure a highly viable product.

Mobilised Leukopaks
Human Mobilised Peripheral Blood Leukopaks are collected from healthy IRB consented donors that are injected with Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF aka Neupogen®), Plerixafor (aka Mozobil®), or a combination of Plerixafor and G-CSF. This increases circulating leukocytes and stimulates the bone marrow to produce many hematopoietic and progenitor stem cells and mobilises these cells into the bloodstream, allowing for enriched CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells from a single donor as compared to traditional Leukopaks. Collecting CD34+ stem cells from a single donor eliminates donor-to-donor variation, allows scalability of stem cell studies, and decreases same cell variability.
Mobilised Leukopaks are ideal for stem cell studies relating to regenerative medicine, immunotherapy, and transplant therapy.

Bone Marrow
CGT Global provides whole human bone marrow and bone marrow-derived primary cells. Bone marrow is collected by a certified medical professional from a maximum of four sites on the posterior iliac crest (200 mL total). Human bone marrow samples are shipped immediately or processed into a specific primary cell population at their on-site FDA-registered laboratory.
Bone marrow is the site of haematopoiesis or the location of blood cell formation. It is rich in haematopoietic stem cells (CD34+ and CD133+ cells), the cells that give rise to white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets, and is a key source for mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), also called mesenchymal stromal cells, which provide the microenvironmental support for haematopoietic stem cells and produce cells of the connective tissue such as bone, cartilage, fat, and muscle.
Bone Marrow - Whole
Fresh human whole bone marrow is collected by a licensed medical professional from healthy IRB consented donors at one of CGT Global's Collection Centres. The fluid portion of the bone marrow is aspirated from up to a maximum of 4 sites on the posterior iliac crest and up to 200ml is collected, the largest volume commercially available. Whole bone marrow is available with anticoagulants Na-Hep or ACD-A as standard (other anticoagulants are available on request), with clot-free shipping guaranteed for the anticoagulant Na-Hep.
Bone Marrow - Isolated Cells
Fresh whole bone marrow is collected from healthy IRB consented donors that are negative for HBV, HCV, and HIV. It is then transferred to CGT Global's on-site cell manufacturing facility where specific bone marrow cells are processed, analysed, and vialed. Cell attributes, such as phenotype, viability, purity, and cell count, are checked to meet rigorous standards, ensuring high-quality cells before leaving the facility.
Cord Blood
CGT Global's cord blood is needle aspirated from the umbilical cord vein into a sterile collection bag containing the anticoagulant citrate phosphate double dextrose (CPD).
Collection of cord blood is a non-invasive and painless procedure performed at one of CGT Global's partnering hospitals by their own procurement staff.
CGT Global has the largest number of cord blood supply partners in the industry with access to over 30 delivery rooms. Cord blood is shipped after collection or processed into a specific primary cell population at their GLP regulatory-compliant laboratory.
Human cord blood consists of immune cells and is considered a rich source of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.
Cord Blood - Whole
Fresh whole cord blood, that is HIV, HBV, and HCV negative is collected in sterile collection bags containing the anticoagulant citrate phosphate double dextrose (CPD). Multiple sizes based on TNC count are available.
Cord Blood - Isolated Cells
Fresh whole cord blood, that is negative for HIV, HBV, and HCV, is transferred to CGT Global's cell manufacturing facility where specific primary cells are processed, analysed, and vialed. Cell isolations occur within 24hrs post-collection, providing industry-leading viability, quality, and cell count. Cell attributes, such as phenotype, viability, purity, and cell count, are checked to meet rigorous standards ensuring high-quality cells before leaving the facility.
