Hank's Balanced Salt Solution

Hanks' Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) is composed of inorganic salts and supplemented with glucose. The solution may be used to wash cells and tissue and to maintain cells in a viable state. The solution is buffered with phosphate and maintains a physiological pH and osmotic pressure. HBSS is sterile filtered through a 0.2um membrane. Formulation: Inorganic Salts (g/L): CaCL2?dihydrate - 0.185, MgSO4?(anhydrous) - 0.09767, KCl - 0.4, KH2PO4?(anhydrous) - 0.06, NaHCO3 - 0.35, NaCl - 8.0, Na2PO4?(anyhydrous) - 0.04788. Other: D-Glucose - 1.0. Specifications: pH - 7.4 ± 0.2, Osmolality (mOsm) - 290 ± 20, Endotoxin (EU/ml) - <0.1, Sterility - Pass.
